Getting to Kuala Lumpur by Air


The main gateways to Malaysia are the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) & Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (KLIA2) at Sepang which is about 50Km south of the KL city center and the low cost carrier airport (Lapangan Terbang Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah) at Subang which is about 16km west of the city centre.

Getting from the airport to the City

By Rail

​

Kuala Lumpur has an integrated rail network connecting the two airports KLIA and KLIA2 to Kuala Lumpur Sentral station where you can hop on to connecting trains that will take you to almost any destination.

By Car 
 
The airport is served by pre-paid taxi services or metered taxi service from the airport to the city. Taxi fares range from RM 80 - RM 220 depending on the destination and class of taxi (Budget - Limousine)
 
For pre-paid service, purchase your taxi ticket at the counters located at the designated areas in the airport. Request for a fare quote according to the taxi class before making your purchase.

Metered taxi service is also available. Please be aware of additional charges on top of the metered rate shown at the end of your trip.

By Bus

​

There are airport coach buses that go to different destinations within the city.  Fares typically start from MYR10.00.  You can also take a shuttle bus between KLIA and KLIA2.  Shuttle busses are frequent and take less than 10 mins between airports.
