26th Intervarsity Biochemistry Seminar

The 26th Intervarsity Biochemistry Seminar in collaboration with the Malaysian Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (MSBMB) was held at the Auditorium 1 and Plenary Theatre of Monash University Malaysia from 8.00 am to 5.30 pm on 16th May 2015. The theme of this year seminar is “Emerging frontiers in Biochemistry and Life Sciences – Progress for a Better Tomorrow” while the objective of the annual event is to provide a platform for undergraduate science students to communicate their research works as well as rekindling their passion for scientific research. The registration fee for student and academic staff are RM20 and RM25 respectively. A total of 340 students and 32 academic staffs from 9 universities as listed below had participated:

We invited the President & Pro Vice-Chancellor of Monash University Malaysia, Professor Hellen Bartlett for the opening speech and the Director of Tropical Medicine and Biology Multidisciplinary Platform, Professor of Plant Genetics, Professor Sadequr Rahman from Monash University Malaysia for the welcoming speech. We are honored to have Dr. Mathavan A. Chandran, the Group Chief Executive Officer of INFOVALLEY® Group of Companies as the guest speaker of the event. A total of 3 Best Oral Presenters were selected from 9 oral presentations and 10 Best Poster Presenters were selected from a total of 47 poster presentations. The President of the MSBMB, Associate Professor Dr. Hasidah Mohd. Sidek was the closing speech speaker of the event.
