Liu JiKai

Prof. Dr. Liu Jikai obtained his B.S., Pharmacy from Anhui University of Chinese Medicine (1982) and subsequently completed his MSc (Medicinal Chemistry; China Pharmaceutical University) and Ph.D. (Organic Chemistry; Lanzhou University) in 1985 and 1988, respectively. He is currently the Dean and Professor at the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, South-Central University for Nationalities, and is the Director at State Key Laboratory of Phytochemistry and Plant Resources in West China, Kunming Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He has published more than 300 publications, 2 monographs and is the recipient of 10 patents. His research focuses on the chemistry of natural products, especially isolation, structural elucidation, biosynthesis and total synthesis of biologically active compounds from fungi, new drug discovery based on natural bioactive compounds from fungi, and chemical biology of natural products. He has supervised 33 Ph. D. Students and has won numerous awards including the Outstanding Scientific and Technological Workers in China (2012) and the Tan Jiazhen Life Sciences Innovation Award (2009).

Mr. Leong William, the Principal Founder of the World Mushroom Academy and Mushroom World, has always been motivated by his fascination with the cultivation of mushrooms. This led him to embarked on a journey of exploration into the enchanting realm of mushrooms. This deep passion led him to establish Mushroom World Academy (Singapore) and Mushroom World (Phuket, Thailand). He firmly believes in providing everyone with the opportunity to derive benefits from mushrooms, be it through consumption or cultivation. Throughout the years, Mr. Leong has acquired a comprehensive certification in mushroom cultivation and has earned certificates in the cultivation of both edible and medicinal mushrooms. Moreover, he holds a WSQ Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance.
and serves as an adjunct trainer at Ngee Ann Polytechnic (Singapore). At the Agritech Fungi Innovation Center in Singapore, Mr. Leong successfully implemented a closed containment system using IoT, aligning with the principles of a Social Enterprise.
