MALACCA (or Melaka in Malaysian)

Melaka, more commonly known as the "The Historic State", is a state located in the southern region of the Malaysia. The state is bordered by Negeri Sembilan to the north andd Johor to the south. Its capital is Melaka City, which is 148 kilometres south east of Kuala Lumpur. This historical city centre has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2008.

Malacca  was the location of one of the earliest  Malay Sultanates, and was conquered by the Portuguese, Dutch, British and Japanese. Various ethnic customs and traditions blended perfectly in Malacca. The multiracial people of Malacca include the Malays, Chinese, Indian, Baba and Nyonya, Portuguese, Chitty and Eurasian.
