Hesham Ali El-Enshasy

Professor

Prof. Hesham Ali El Enshasy is the current Director of Institute of Bioproduct Development (IBD), and professor in bioprocess engineering, school of Chemical and Energy Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). Since 2020, he is recognized as one of the top 2% researchers in the world in the field of Biotechnology, according Stanford University research study (for both career and single year lists since 2020). Before joining UTM, he was the assistant director of City for Scientific Research for Research Institutes Affairs (Alexandria, Egypt). Prof. El Enshasy received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Microbiology (Ain Shams University, Egypt), Dr. rer. Nat. in Industrial Biotechnology (TU Braunschweig, Germany 1998), M.Sc. Technology Management (UTM, Malaysia, 2012) and did two post-doc for bioprocess optimization of mammalian cell culture in GBF, Germany and The Ohio State University, USA.


He established many research and industrial platforms for the industrial production of different bioactive metabolites using microbial, mammalian and plant cells in many universities, research institutes and companies. Prof. El Enshasy has more than 300 publications in form of peer reviewed international journals, book Chapters, and books.

Siriporn Chuchawankul

Assistant Professor

Assistant Professor Siriporn Chuchawankul received her BSc (Medical Biotechnology) in 1996 from Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok. She then completed her Ph.D. (Microbiology and Immunology) in 2002 from the Medical College of Virginia Campus of Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, Virginia, USA. 

 

She is currently the Head of the Immunomodulation of Natural Products Research Group, Chulalongkorn University, Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Transfusion Medicine and Clinical Microbiology, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok. Her research interests include natural products, immunomodulation, drug discovery, medicinal mushrooms and phytochemical analysis.

Ng Szu Ting

Ng Szu Ting is a molecular biologist by training. After graduating with her Master's degree, she was involved in the development of transgenic plants, genetic modified microorganism and also a GMO detection kit. After 2 years of working with genetically modified organisms, she moved in to the natural product industry and have been focused on natural product discovery and herbal research for the past 20 years. She began research on the Tiger Milk Mushroom together with Dr. Tan Chon Seng in 2002 and have successfully developed a proprietary cultivation technology in 2008. Dr. Tan and her then founded LiGNO Biotech Sdn. Bhd. in 2008 and is currently the CEO of LiGNO Biotech Sdn Bhd.

Sunita Chamyuang

Sunita Chamyuang is a lecturer at Mae Fah Luang University (MFU), Chiang Rai, Thailand. She received her Ph.D from the University of Canterbury, Christchurch New Zealand in 2010 and starts her career as lecturer at MFU right after her graduation. Despite the teaching activities at MFU, Dr. Sunita has supervised four master student and one Ph.D students in the field of mushroom production, natural products discovery from fungi and mushrooms, prebiotics properties from rice and coffee cherry. Her research expertise and interest are on the fungal metabolites, mushroom production, medicinal properties from fungi and mushrooms and the application for the use of fungal natural product in medicine and cosmetic. She has obtained over 9 research grants as principal and co-researcher and has 3 patents under her name.
