KANDIKERE R. SRIDHAR

Dr. Kandikere R. Sridhar is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Biosciences, Mangalore University, having served over 40 years. His research interests includes mycology, bacteriology, food science and Myriapodology. His main area of research are the diversity and ecology of freshwater fungi of the Western Ghats and Mangrove/Marine Habitats of the West Coast of India and the biology of macrofungi of the Western Ghats of India. Dr. Sridhar fetched: The Shome Memorial Award (2004), Vice-President (2013), President (2018) and Lifetime Achievement Award (2019) by the Mycological Society of India. He was awarded Fellow of Indian Mycological Society, Kolkata (2014). Asian Mycological Society has conferred him as Distinguished Asian Mycologist (2015). Association of Agricultural Technology of Southeast Asia, Thailand awarded him Outstanding Leader in Education and Research (2016). His contributions for the last 41 years elevated him to the top 2% of world scientists in the field of Mycology by the survey of Stanford University (USA) in 2020 based the Google Scholar Citations. Currently Dr. Sridhar is serving as visiting professor, Department of Agricultural Technology, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology, Bangkok.

HYUN-JAE SHIN

Hyun-Jae Shin is a Professor of Biochemical Engineering at Chosun University, Gwangju, Korea. He studied biochemical engineering and obtained a PhD in biochemical engineering at KAIST (Daejon, Korea), and completed postdoctoral work at Univ. Westminster, London, UK (as a Chevening Scholarship recipient of British Council). He is responsible for many national and industrial research projects in Chosun University. He has published over 150 international and domestic papers, 40 patents either registered or filed, and 10 books. He served as Editor-in-Chief, Korea Society for Biotechnology and Bioengineering Journal and Journal of Mushrooms, and reviewers and editorial boards of many international journals.

IWAN SASKIAWAN

Dr. Iwan Saskiawan is a Senior Researcher and Head of the Microbiology Division at the Research Center for Biology, Indonesian Institute of Sciences. He graduated with a B.Sc (Biology) from the General Soedirman University, Indonesia (1998) before pursuing his postgraduate studies (M.Sc and Ph.D) at the Graduate School of Biostudies, Kyoto University in 2004. He is currently member of the Indonesian Society for Microbiology, Indonesian Mycologist Society and Secretary of the National Working Group on Indonesian Edible Mushroom.

RENATO G. REYES

Prof. Dr. Renato G. Reyes is a professor of mycology and the program leader of the Central Luzon State University’s Tuklas Lunas Development Center, one of the drug discovery centers in the Philippines. He earned his Ph. D. in Forest Science from Tokyo University of Agriculture in 1999 through the Japanese Government Scholarship Program. His research specialization on mushroom science and biotechnology as well as natural products from mushrooms has been harnessed when he did four post doctoral fellowships in Japan, Germany and the USA as follows: a JSPS Research Fellow in 1999 at Tokyo University of Agriculture, Japan; an Inwent Fellow at the Technical University of Braunsweig, Germany in 2005; a JASSO Research Fellow at the Takasaki University of Health and Welfare, Gunma, Japan in 2009; and a Fulbright Research Fellow at Michigan State University in 2012.
His 58 research articles on mushroom have been published in web of science and Scopus indexed journals. His 4 books on mushroom and 3 chapters in books serve as reference guides for mushroom growers in the tropics. His invention on the biotechnological production of mushroom betaglucan using coconut water as propagating medium was intellectually protected by the Intellectual Property Office in the Philippines.
Prof. RG Reyes is the current VP for Academic Affairs and the concurrent Director of the International Affairs Office of the Central Luzon State University.
